The Open Category for young students for 1st to 4th grade aims at students who take their first steps in STEM and the implementation of an integrated project. Every year it follows the topic of the competition (this year it is about space), where each team designs and implements their project by organizing an exhibition stand.
Each project involves mechanical, manual and/or powered constructions. For the first time simple automations will be introduced this year. The category is ideal for teachers without previous experience, as it gradually introduces them to the world of STEM, with limited technical difficulties, while the project implementation process can be effectively integrated into the daily instruction process.
Therefore, in addition to the knowledge that students acquire, they develop important life skills and keep a positive attitude toward their engagement with Physical Sciences.
