The educational program “AI Holiday Island” is designed for 5th and 6th grade elementary students and combines technology with environmental responsibility and social innovation. Students take on the role of technological consultants for an island municipality and are called upon to design smart solutions for problems such as waste management, traffic congestion, and energy conservation during the tourist season. Using micro:bit, artificial intelligence cameras, 3D design and printing, children create original robotic constructions and automation systems with social and environmental value. They develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and environmental awareness, seeing their ideas implemented in practice.
The creative process is completed with the integration of technology, where students add sensors and actuators to their handmade projects. In this way, they implement their first automations, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern programming. Through this holistic experience, children cultivate their geometric perception, develop fine motor skills, and strengthen their confidence as creators.
